We're past half way, so I thought I'd look back on what's happened. This year there was supposed to be more overtaking, but that hasn't really worked out. In fact the races have been much as usual, though there's been unpredictability about which team has the best car at each race. There's been plenty of news, though:

Honda withdraws, becomes Brawn at the last minute
Button wins multiple races for Brawn
War between teams and Mosley leads to breakaway series
Vettel wins twice for Red Bull
Peace breaks out - Mosley to go - no breakaway
Webber gets first win - Red Bull looking very strong
Barrichello throws toys out of pram
Massa hit by flying debris, in a critical condition
McLaren spectacular turn-round: Hamilton wins a race
Ferrari spectacular turn-round: Räikkönen second
Renault given one race ban
Brawn drop from clearly fastest to mid-field
Schumacher to drive again
BMW to withdraw

I haven't even mentioned the usual stories about who's driving where next year.

This should be unthinkable, but with the current state of F1 it just seems mildly surprising.

The official F1 site's news page has a number of stories about the race at Silverstone this weekend, drivers' helmet designs and which celebs were there. Curiously there's nothing about the teams pulling out of F1...

The FOTA teams (every F1 team except Williams and Force India) announced they are not racing in F1 next year but setting up their own series.

I never thought it would come to this, but I'm pleased. The good teams, the good drivers, the good circuits, lower ticket prices, and goodbye to Ecclestone and Mosley: what's not to like?

However, I can't help feeling that we should expect more news.

Smoothly done by Button and problems for Barrichello, as now seems usual. Big improvement from Ferrari. What happened to Toyota?

Only a few overtaking manoeuvres, but what can we expect at Monaco?

And a little fitness training for Button at the end. 8~)
